Sex Addicts Anonymous (SAA) - Twelve Step fellowship

Sex Addicts Anonymous is a fellowship of recovering addicts, and offers a message of hope to anyone who suffers from addictive sexual behavior, including sexual anorexia. Abbreviated to SAA, the basic principles of recovery practiced by the fellowship are found in the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Though the title of the fellowship and the majority of its members identify with addiction, the fellowship has started to develop resources for compulsive sexual avoidance, a synonym for sexual anorexia. View a list of SAA literature and draft literature relevant to sexual anorexia.

Members share their stories about living with sexual avoidance (warning: they also share some descriptions of their sex addiction) on the website for telephone meetings here and here.

Sexual anorexics are welcome at all meetings, though the addiction side of things will be discussed more. So far, face-to-face meetings focusing on sexual avoidance are rare, but there are telephone/conference call meetings (telemeetings) with this focus. There is a list of SAA meetings and a website dedicated to telemeetings.

Sex Addicts Anonymous and the SAA logo are ® Registered Trademarks of the International Service Organization of Sex Addicts Anonymous, Inc.
